The Beginning of a NEW WALK of Women of Empowerment

On Friday, May 6, 2016, approximately 62 female staff and female students from the Gadsden Job Corps Center walked to the Carver Community Center wearing pink shirts, to release balloons that represented their past, and to begin a NEW WALK of Women of Empowerment. The Gadsden Job Corps Center’s Empowering Women aims to inspire our female students and staff on Center the courage to break free from the chains of limiting belief patterns, pain, hurts, and habits that have traditionally kept women suppressed and unable to see who they are within. Mrs. Ayana Williams shared a message with students and staff that offered self-help tools, information, encouragement and inspirational quotes and sayings to use as a guide on the journey of reclaiming their power to be who they are truly meant to be. Women of Empowerment are encouraged to see and bring forth the beauty and strength within themselves, to be inspired to be the best they can be, and to let their true spirit shine through. A special thanks to Ms. Sherry Hixon, Academic Manager, for organizing this event.
