OA Students Visit Etowah County Revenue Commissioner

On March 15, 2016, BCL Manager, Harold Carpenter took two Office Administration students, Daniel Heard and Rachael Norfleet, to job shadow the Revenue Commissioner of Etowah County, Mrs. Linda Barrett Vaughn. Daniel and Rachael received first-hand experience of what it is like to be the Revenue Commissioner. These students saw the mission of the Etowah County Revenue Commissioner; which is to bill, collect, invest, borrow, safeguard and disburse monies and properties for Etowah County. Mrs. Vaughn does this on behalf of the county, other government agencies and entities, and private individuals as specified by the Laws of Alabama. These students saw Mrs. Vaughn as she provided enforcement, consulting, estate administration, and public information services. Mrs. Vaughn strives to serve the citizens of Etowah County by providing timely and accurate services in a manner that is fair, legal, and courteous. Daniel and Rachael were invited guests to the Etowah County Commissioners Meeting. Mrs. Vaughn introduced our students to each Etowah County Commissioner and they welcomed them as “Special Guests” at the Commissioners Meeting.
