On Thursday, August 11, 2016 the Gadsden Job Corps Center had the opportunity to attend the 3rd Annual Career Expo, sponsored by Councilman Thomas Worthy and the Gadsden Career Center. Attendees included Tyson Foods, Cintas, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Decatur Plastics, Attalla Health Care and Rehab, Waffle House, Gadsden State Community College, Gadsden Police Department, and Surge Staffing Inc. During this career exploration collaboration, students from the C.N.A., CTR, Office Administration, Carpentry and Culinary Arts trades had the opportunity to fill out applications and interview on the spot for possible job leads. The employers not only gave interviewing pointers, but offered jobs to several students that resided in the Gadsden area upon their completion of the Job Corps program. We would like to thank Councilman Thomas Worthy and the Career Center for inviting our students and staff to this event and we look forward to partnering with them on next year’s event.
