4.7.16 Latasha J Davis came to Gadsden Job Corps in 2014 and completed Security on November 1, 2014. Latasha enlisted in the Army as an engineer. She has been stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky for four years. She said she loved the fact that Job Corps was so diverse. “The instructors encouraged you to become greater,” said Ms. Davis. The Center Director realized that we were young adults and held us accountable for our own actions and decisions. Latasha loves the fact that the Army has great benefits and gives you the chance to further your education. Latasha said, “You are taught how to be leader and you have the opportunity to travel the world.” Latasha is currently working to obtain an Associate’s degree in Nursing. She plans in the future to get a Bachelor’s degree in Pediatric Nursing. Latasha is grateful for the Job Corps experience and the support of all staff that helped her succeed especially Captain Shirley Henderson for the preparation she gave to her for her military training.
