On June 9, 2016, Mr. Martelli Smith, OA/CPP Coordinator, took 11 students to tour the Mercedes Benz Plant in Vance Alabama. It was 1 ½ hour walking tour and covered a distance of two (2) miles. The students were able to witness a Mercedes Benz car being made from the beginning stage to the end. The Mercedes Benz staff reviewed the qualifications needed to become a member of “Team Mercedes” with our students. In addition, staff also shared the company has an onsite hospital, daycare, and cafeteria. This tour of the plant was very informative and beneficial for our students mainly because some are from the Tuscaloosa area. A few of our students hope to one day be employed with Mercedes Benz.
