Gadsden Job Corps students had a unique opportunity to take part in a Youth Christmas party for area underprivileged youth that was put on by one of GJCC’s community partners The Greater Gadsden Housing Authority. The highlight of the program, of course, was Santa Claus giving out gifts to the children. But GJCC Academic Instructor, Shannon Titshaw, was a big hit at the party by doing “Face-Painting” for the children. Ms. Titshaw’s and Human Service Workers’ talents are Hollywood-ready. The Culinary Art Students prepared fingers food and delicious cupcakes for the children and staff. Our Student Government Association (SGA), Human Services, and Culinary Arts students assisted in all events at the program. The partnership that the Gadsden Job Corps Center has with the City of Gadsden, and the surrounding community, is special. GJCC students have learned an important lesson in life and that is to give of oneself to others to help make special things happen. Gadsden Job Corps thanks the Greater Gadsden Housing Authority for inviting us to be a part of a special day for the children of our community.
