Gadsden Job Corps Center’s Culinary Program was selected as the Workforce Council Spotlight. On Thursday, January 28, 2016. Mr. Lou Consilo, President of Louie’s Pickles & Italian Deli was on center to tour the Culinary Arts trade. Mr. Consilo recently signed a Work- Based Learning (WBL) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) partnership with the Culinary Arts Program. During the tour, the culinary students conducted class as usual and Mr. Consilo was able to see first-hand the exceptional training provided to our students. Mr. Consilo reviewed culinary equipment and their Training Achievement Record (TAR). He also provided informative feedback by completing the trade visit survey. Before concluding his visit, Mr. Consilo gave our students employment tips and interview techniques. Mr. Consilo said he looks forward to his continued partnership with Gadsden Job Corps Center and the opportunity to train and mentor students.
