Gadsden Job Corps Celebrate “Earth Day”

4.22.16 Mr. David Barrett, Peer Leadership Coordinator, coordinated several groups of Gadsden Job Corps students to celebrate “Earth Day” in the Gadsden Community. There were 68 students from the Gadsden Job Corps Center that observed “Earth Day” by going all across Gadsden to help in our community so Gadsden will be a better place to live. Students participated on “Earth Day” by going to Parks, the Carver Community Center and Gadsden Head Start Program in assigned groups to do trash pick-up, graffiti removal, clearing and marking the park’s trails and work with the community doing whatever is needed. The Students of Gadsden Job Corps worked in the Gadsden Community with hands-on activities aimed at educating our Job Corps Students by working together as a team, having a feeling of accomplishment, seeing staff and students work together by cleaning up our community and making the Gadsden community a more beautiful place to live and learn.
