7.29.16 On April 29, 2016 DaTerrius Knight completed the Gadsden Job Corps Center program and shortly
afterwards began working at Kronospan in Lincoln, Al. as a Bander/ Lift Truck. DaTerrius is doing such
an outstanding job that he was shortly promoted to Finisher Leader. Knight’s supervisor stated that he
is a skilled communicator and gets along well with his co-workers and is able to make snap
decisions. His biggest asset is being reliable and flexible to work any shift. The biggest advice that
Knight want to give the student body is to have the ability to work under pressure. Whether you’re
trying to hit a challenge deadline or an urgent job has just landed in your lap, employers want to know you
can put the stress to one side and focus on the job at hand. The TipTip is when you look at the list and
see how valuable soft skills can be to organizations; it’s a wonder they call them “soft skills” because they
are very important on the job and hard to learn! Once you do implement these skills, you will be able to
keep that job as well as getting a promotion within the company in a short period of time.
