Gadsden Culinary Arts Program Caters the Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities

The Gadsden Job Corps Culinary Arts Program under the leadership of Chef Crystal Dent, Culinary Arts Instructor, had an opportunity to cater the Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities at the Gadsden/Etowah Chamber of Commerce. Our Culinary Arts students did an outstanding job of catering to an overflow crowd of people from Etowah, Marshall, and St. Clair counties. The Alabama Department of Rehab Services and guests commented that Chef Crystal Dent and our students did an excellent job with the food and their service was great. This event highlighted people who have disabilities and presented companies who assist people with disabilities with awards and plaques from the Alabama Department of Rehab Services. Mr. Harold Carpenter, BCL, had an opportunity to talk to Mr. James Myrick, Assistant Commissioner of Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, Mr. Mark Howard, Vocational Rehab Counselor and Mr. Daniel Spencer, Business Relations Consultant of the Alabama Department of Rehab Services. These men and women from the Alabama Department of Rehab Services said our Culinary Arts students were at their best in serving the guests and the food was out of this world.
