Culinary Arts Students Cater Charity Event For Gadsden Museum of Art

8.25.16Chef Crystal Dent, Culinary Instructor, and our Culinary Arts student catered for the Gadsden Museum of Art to help a local homeless shelter, The Love Center, of Gadsden, AL. The Love Center is a shelter for the homeless and a food pantry for the people who need food in the City of Gadsden and Etowah County. This charity event was organized by Mr. Andy Powell, former writer for the Gadsden Times. Mr. Powell has been at several catering events that our Culinary Arts students have catered and he asked Chef Crystal Dent and our Culinary Arts students to prepare the food for guests. The Gadsden Museum of Art sold paintings to help raised money for The Love Center by auctioning off paintings that were donated by the Gadsden community to be sold to the highest bidder for The Love Center. The auction raised over $6,000.00 for The Love Center. Mr. Powell and his staff said that the food was the icing on the cake because the Culinary Arts students did a marvelous job in preparation and serving the guests who came to the Gadsden Museum of Arts for the charity event. We are so proud of our Culinary Arts Program and the great job they do in the community.
