Carpentry Department Built Tables For Boys and Girls Club

8.3.16 The Gadsden Job Corps Carpentry trade partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to build tables for the new Boys and Girls Club in Gadsden, AL. Mr. Sonquez Williams, Director of the Boys and Girls Club, asked Mr. Harold Carpenter, BCL Manager, if our Carpentry students could build tables for the new center. Mr. Carpenter talked to Mr. Robert Rollins, Carpentry Instructor, about doing the project for the Boys and Girls Club. The Boys and Girls Club needed twelve tables (2’x2’) and one (4’x8’) table for the new center. Our Carpentry students put a material list together and the Boys and Girls Club provided all the materials that were needed. Our Carpentry students made all the tables and they were stained and finished out according to Mr. Williams’ specifications. Mr. Williams came this week to pick up the tables and said, “I want to thank the Carpentry students because this saved the Boys and Girls Club money and we received the exact product that we wanted. We are so glad to be a part of the Gadsden Job Corps family.” The Boys and Girls Club is a Work-Based Learning (WBL) site for Gadsden Job Corps’ HSW-AT Program. Gadsden Job Corps is proud to be a part of the Boys and Girls Club in Gadsden, AL.
