Flint Hills Job Corps Students Apply Their Knowledge In The Real World

Recently, the Flint Hills Job Corps security and protective services students had the opportunity to put their skills to the test at the annual Purple Power Play on Poyntz street festival in Manhattan, KS.

The annual two-day event is sponsored by Kansas State University, local businesses and vendors. On average the festival will see anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 visitors during the two day stretch.

As always, the FHJCC students handled their traffic control responsibilities with the utmost professionalism. One of the event coordinators, Gina Scroggs had this to say about the students, “We loving having these kids out here, we always know that they’re going to take their jobs seriously and complete the tasks they’re asked to do with the highest level of professionalism.”

Way to go FHJCC Security students, your Center is proud of the work you’re doing to better our community!
