On July 5th, students and staff enjoyed a wonderful musical presentation from guest from the Limonest France Youth Orchestra Performance during lunch. The group of young musicians (all minors) were from Limonest, France and this performance was a part of the “Culture Shock Program” with partnerships of Flint Institute of Music, Communities First Inc., and Flint School of Performing Arts. Pop-up performances were offered in various organizations throughout the community that day to include Flint Genesee Job Corps!
Students and staff welcomed our guests from France to the United States, State of Michigan, City of Flint, and the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center with a warm applause as they entered our Dining Hall as well as when they finished. Although the young musicians did not speak English, they certainly appreciated the warm applause and smiles they received. Having our visitors on center was certainly a treat and a learning experience for everyone and our center appreciated the opportunity to open our doors to our guest to learn more about our services to young people ages 16-24!
