The Flint/Genesee Job Corps Centers painting students were televised on ABC news this past week for painting of the mural for the “Back to the Bricks”event, which thousands of viewers could observe as they “cruised the pavements” with various classic cars. The annual event, draws in guest from the community as well as other cities and states. Painting students, along with their instructor, Ray Heddy, were interviewed on site, as they spoke about mixing of the recycled paint and their reasons to paint the mural, which enhanced the once graffiti spewed area. The class has plans for future murals to heighten pride in the community.
