Graduation Ceremony Held at Flint Genesee Job Corps Center

The Flint Genesee Job Corps welcomed graduates, families, and friends back to the Centered to be celebrated and recognized.  Homeland Security cadets assisted with traffic control and began the commencement with color guard of flags display, followed by the National Anthem.  Invocation was given by Pastor Jeffery Hawkins.  It was great to have Alumni from 2010, Danielle Stevens,  back to share her positive experiences since graduating, working in the Detroit Public Schools as well as being a motivational speaker for young women.  Graduates and guest listened attentively to or our keynote speaker, Damon Ross from the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. Letters of Congratulations were received from Governor Whitmere,  Congressman Dan Kildee, Senator Gary Peters, Senator Debbie Stabenow, Senator Ananich, and Mayor Sheldon Neeley.    Representatives from congressional offices were also in attendance, respectively.  Encouraging words were shared by out Center Director, and graduates were elated when the Academic and CTS Manager handed their scrolls and diplomas!  It was a wonderful day shared by all at the Flint Genesee Job Corps – this being the first graduation since 2019!     We look forward in anticipation for our next graduation in 2023!  We are proud of our students and graduates!
