Various Letters of Congratulations to Flint Genesee Job Corps Centers graduates were presented during the graduation commencement held today at the Center.   Rafael Turner, Constituent Services Representative for Congressman Kildee presented letter on his behalf.   Congressman Kildee congratulated graduates on a successful completion of the Job corps program.  A quote from President Barack Obama’s 2011 State of the union Address was fitting for the occasion…”We’re a nation that says, I might not have a lot of money, but I have this great idea for a new company.  I might not come from a family of college graduates, but I will be the first to get my degree” I might not know those people in trouble, but I think I can help them, and I need to try.  I’m not sure how we’ll reach that better place beyond the horizon, but I know we’ll get there.  I know we will — We do big things”  Congressman Kildee remarked “Your graduation today shows your commitment to being a leader and insuring that our nation will never lose sight of doing the “big things.” Apply the same dedication you have shown in your work at Job Corps to the next chapter in life and you are bound for success.  Congratulations and remember “we do big things”. 

Additionally  “we do big things” – was the Flint/Genesee Job Corps  Class Motto for this graduation.    Both students and staff were appreciative of the motivational words from Congressman Dale Kildee in recognition  of National Job Corps Commencement Day.
