On September 10, the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center hosted an “Community Open Forum”, which Judges Kathy Dowd and Nathan Perry spoke openly and candidly with Job Corps students and staff as well as guest from the community, regarding the processes of the court system and the urgency for young people to understand the consequences of “making bad choices”. Both judges sat along with guest, making dialogue easier for all in attendance, and note cards were given to those who peferred writing their questions or concerns to judges. Everyone left with a a greater understanding and appreciation of the court system. The following day, students were delighted to be among guest at a local high school for the Youth Empowerment and Community Expo, which national known Judge Mathis made outstanding presentation.
