The Flint Genesee Job Corps Center was described as “an Oasis in the Ruins” , as highlighted in the community’s  Flintside Newspaper. Located in the city’s northside, compliments were made from community members who support the center during the programs during uncertain times, as students brace themselves as they face the challenges and uncertainly of the possibility of closing of the program on a national basis.  Quotes from students were included in the article with hopes they are able to complete the program and move on in training to obtain employment and/ or educational achievements.
