If I Could Make A School – Rhode Island

EJCA students participated in a Rhode Island Department of Education [RIDE] weekend workshop for young adults and RIDE staff on October 29, 2011. State-wide High School age students came together to collaborate with Education, Community and Business leaders to discuss what high school should look like for todays’ students. RIDE Commissioner Deborah Gist was front and center working with the students to decipher what is relevant, rigorous and value added. EJCA students Eduardo Lopez, Renee Esquerre, Kevin Acevedo, Sha’quilla Young were very excited to participate and maybe have an impact on the Rhode Island High School experience moving forward in 2012.
