EJCA Manufacturing and Construction students participated in a Ground Hog Job Shadow event during February with the Rhode Island Army National Guard at Camp Fogarty. Students were given a guided tour of the Mechanic Shop, the Humvee fleet, heavy equipment and motored vehicles. Soldiers answered the students technical questions and reviewed detailed facts about the machinery. Students were impressed on how technology has made significant changes in vehicle designs since the Iraq war to protect soldiers in the battlefield. Did you know that one armored windshield on a Humvee weighs 100 lbs?
