Welding students at Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center gain Work Based Learning experience at local auto body shop.

Welding students from the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center are taking part in Work Based Learning at the Troost Wood Body Shop in Kansas City, Missouri.  Troost Wood obtained a government contract to modify Ford F-350 pickup trucks for the Department of Defense for use overseas. Five students are assisting in the modification of the 127 trucks. The Welding students are using the plasma cutter, drilling holes and prepping the frame of the rear end, mechanical work-disassembling and assembling, use a grinder to prepare metal and inspect machine functions.
