Students from Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center graduate from OAI Environmental Remediation Training.

On Friday October 21st graduation ceremonies were held for participants in the Opportunity Advancement Innovation Training in Environmental Remediation. Facilities Maintenance students Joshua Hankins and Ashley Leabo as well as Carpentry student Nicholas Raether were among the 18 completers of this program. Participants obtained a wide variety of certifications which include; 40 hours of Hazardous Waste Removal, First Aide/CPR, 10 hours of OSHA safety, Lead Abatement, Lead RRP, Mold Remediation, Asbestos Abatement, as well as hands on work experience and job readiness skills. Partners and supporters of the program include the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the cities of Independence and Kansas City, the Green Impact Zone of Missouri, the Mid American Regional Council, and Era Environmental and Safety.
