Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Navy Ball was held on December 14th. The event included an awards ceremony with organizations throughout the United States recognizing the outstanding performance of several cadets. The U.S. Navy League awarded Navesha Osby with Cadet of the Year. In addition, the William C. Corum Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution awarded the bronze star to Cadet Brandon Groover and Navesha Osby. The Scottish Rite recognized Cadet Zachery Cowee for outstanding citizenship and Cadet Terry Bronson with The National Sojourners award for outstanding leadership. Other organizations providing cadet awards and recognition for the ceremony included the Military Officers Association, Noncommissioned Officers Association, Military Orders of World Wars, and Order of the Purple Heart.
