Students in the Navy JROTC program at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center were visited on Thursday May 24th by NJROTC Area 9 Commander Merv Dial. Commander Dial was conducting his bi-annual area manager’s inspection. Following a personnel inspection, The color guard and squad drill teams performed a number of maneuvers that ended with a pass and review formation by all NJROTC students. Commander Dial then spoke to the students about their goals while at Job Corps and after they complete the program. Commander Dial and NJROTC Instructor, retired Lieutenant Commander Bill Allen then inspected the Naval Science building on campus. The inspection ended with lunch in the Culinary Arts building. Commander Dial came away impressed with the NJROTC students at Excelsior Springs and expressed his admiration for the program.
