On Tuesday August 16th the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center held its first Career Technical Training Advisory Committee meeting. This committee is charged with reviewing the Training Achievement Records for each trade as well as the certifications that are provided to the students that complete those trades. Representatives from a local convalascent center and a home health care agency were in attendance. Work Based Learning Students already perform clinical rotation hours at the Excelsior Springs Convalascent and Rehab Center. On Tuesday August 23rd the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center Industry Council met in the Upper Social Hall. In attendance were representatives from the City of Excelsior Springs as well as the Chamber of Commerce and local paper. Also represented was the Platte County Economic Development Corporation and the Culinary Institute International of Kansas City. Items of discussion were the CTT Advisory Committee the previous week as well as the progress and activity of the students in the various trades.  Pictured are participants and staff at the CIC.
