The BCL, Julia R. Gibson supervised and coordinated the Annual Job Shadow Day for selected students in the medical trades. This opportunity was created through partnership with the Scouts of America.
The job shadowing at St. Peters university hospital provided on-the-job learning, career development, and leadership development. The students shadowed several departments from the unit secretaries, oncology department, radiology, nursery, pediatrics department, bariatrics at this hospital. In addition, the Edison Job Corps students had the opportunity to meet with Senior Hiring Officer/ Talent Acquisition Director for lunch. The day concluded with an interview workshop, blood pressure, diabetes awareness coaching sessions. Overall the day was successful and the students had the opportunity to observe some of the best doctors and medical staff working at St. Peters University.
