Edison Job Corps Graduate Making Great Strides
Aleah Hargrove completed the Edison Job Corps program in 2002. She studied the Business Technology Trade, earned her high school diploma and certifications in Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint and Access.
Aleah credits her inspiration to complete her trade and academic achievements with the help and support of Ms. Learline Jackson and Center Director at the time, Lee Matthews. Aleah is currently working for DVR, an organization that prepares individuals with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment. She is utilizing the skills acquired at Job Corps to provide quality workforce placement to make a difference in the lives of people. Aleah’s background with Job Corps helped her to understand there are many paths in life. She struggled in high school and turned her life around. Aleah is an example of an individual that took full advantage of the academic training the Job Corps program provides. Her advice for current students is to find your path, seek out your passion and continue to grow in your field. Whatever life hands to you don’t let it keep you from your goals, keep rising!
