From February 6th to 9th, Edison Job Corps Center Director, Jibu Kuruvilla Deputy Director, Windy White and BCL, Monika Pankiewicz along with Student Government Association students attended the 2012 NJCA Policy Forum. This year’s theme of “Job Corps Works” provided our leadership and students with an opportunity to educate members of Congress on the positive impact of the Job Corps program while also receiving strategic updates from the National Director of Job Corps, Edna Primrose.

National Job Corps Association (NJCA) Policy Forum Goals & Objectives:

• Provide an overview of the 2012 political landscape and potential challenges and opportunities.
• Share critical messages, NJCA programs and Job Corps funding priorities for fiscal year 2012.
• Educate members of Congress and congressional staff regarding Job Corps’ role in investing in America’s communities and workforce.
• Discuss select Job Corps program and policy challenges with U.S. Department of Labor officials and with each other.
