The speaker was Gail Lalla who provides a multi-faceted background in public policy, marketing, and governmental relations. As President of the MCYD, Gail uses her expertise in planning, budgeting, stakeholder communication, and team motivation to help lead the mission of the MCYD. Her journey into policy started with her internships with Congressman Frank Pallone and later with Greener by Design LLC. Gail has become a speaker on panels for the US Green Building Council, the NJ Chemistry Council, and various symposiums on clean energy. With election season right here upon us in the USA, now is the time to make sure our young people and communities are educated on what exactly it means to vote and be educated on their vote. “It is a great responsibility to teach and help the youth in the community understand the importance of voting. The youth will make the final decision as to who they are voting for. This a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together”, said Julia Gibson who is the Business Community Liaison at Edison Job Corps Academy. Edison Job Corp partnered with Hometown Hero club on this powerful event to educate youth and surrounding communities of the importance of voting. “This is a great opportunity for our young people to learn their importance of voting especially with an election like we have for 2020. Not just in the presidential race but local elections, school boards, as well as their respective schools. Everyone should know what and who exactly they’re voting for” said Ashton Burrell founder
