July 23, 2010 marked another joyful moment for the staff of the Edison Job Corps Academy as they watched graduates, cheered by their families and fellow students, marching proudly through the gymnasium to celebrate their accomplishments at this very memorable graduation ceremony. Graduates were honored to hear from the Edison Mayor, Antonia Ricigliano and the Guest Speaker, Maurice L. Belfield. In his congratulatory letter read by a Student Government Association representative, Senator Frank Lautenberg recognized “the profound effect education has on providing career opportunities and applauded the Edison Job Corps Academy for offering comprehensive training and real-life skills.” Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. also sent his congratulations and acknowledged, “The rigorous and demanding curriculum set forth by the Edison Job Corps Academy prepares their students for success.” He also noted, “Molding students into young professionals, this organization and its students are critical to our nation’s success.” Students were also pleased to see representatives from Congressman Albio Sires Office read a message from the Congressman and personally hand out “Certificates of Appreciation” to graduates from his district. The culminating moment of the ceremony was conferring the diplomas followed by many hugs, flowers, cheers and tears of joy. Congratulations to all 2010 Edison Job Corps Graduates!!!
