Renewable Energy Class

The Earle C. Clements Job Corps Academy will serve as host for the October 31, 2011 Renewable Energy Class for local high school students and electrical students of the Academy   Sponsors for the event include: University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research, Power and Energy Institute of Kentucky, and Plugged In –The Northwest Kentucky Energy Initiative.  Approximately 90 high school students from Union, Henderson, Webster, and Crittenden Counties will attend.  Dr. Paul Dolloff will be the instructor, a senior engineer in the Research and Development Department at East Kentucky Power in Winchester, KY.  Dr. Dolloff is also Adjunct Faculty in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Kentucky.  Recently Dr. Dolloff has served on the Department of Energy Technical Merit Review Committees reviewing proposals in the renewable energy sector of Federal ARRA (stimulus) funding.  “We are very pleased to be hosting this incredible opportunity for our youth, focusing on the future,” stated Earle C. Clements Job Corps Academy Center Director Jeff Barton.
