Congratulations to two Earle C. Clements students, Caleb Dumas and Terellus Davenport, who were recently selected to complete an eight week work based learning training opportunity with the International Masonry Institute’s training center, The Flynn Center in Bowie, Maryland. There they are receiving specialized training in block laying that will give them the needed skills to enter a future apprenticeship in Louisville, Kentucky with the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, leading to very high-paying jobs at Ford’s battery plant construction site in central Kentucky. Their training at Earle C. Clements gave them a jump start by introducing them to block as they worked in the Tile Setting trade.
