Earle C. Clements Job Corps Academy Remembers Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On January 15, 2023, the students and staff of Earle C. Clements came together for a program to remember the life of a great and noble man, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Master of Ceremony for the event was our own Career Transition Specialist, Ezell Larkin.  The program included live music by former ECC staff member, E.J. Simmons, a praise dance by Kwila Kinard, the daughter of Brenda Kinard, Recreations Advisor, and poems by two of our Student Government Association members, President Quandra Jennings and Secretary Dequarius Elmore. The Student Personnel Manager, Stanley McIntyre, recited the “I Have a Dream” speech.  Mr. Mac, as we affectionately call him, has no problem with public speaking, but admitted that even he was nervous giving such a famous and important speech.  Closing remarks were made by the Director of Career Success, Deria Williams. Fellowship and refreshments were enjoyed by everyone who attended.
