DJCC volunteers at Gleaner’s Community Food Bank

On Tuesday, October 18,2011  the Detroit Job Corps Center (DJCC) Computer Tech trainees volunteered at Gleaner’s Community Food Bank helping to prepare and prep packages of non-perishable food for homeless and school age children. On Saturday, October 22,2011, the Detroit Job Corps Center volunteered at Gleaners Community Food Bank for “Make a Difference Day”,all trainees received a certification of appreciation for their community service work.

For more than 33 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been nourishing  communities by feeding hungry people. Last year Gleaners distributed 40 million pounds of emergency food to over 552 partners’ soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties.
