On August 17,2011, trainees from the Detroit Job Corps Center(DJCC) Facilities Maintenance Trade and staff partnered with the American Red Cross and World Medical Relief(WMR) to help unload semi trucks carrying 13,000 blankets from the Department of Defense for homeless shelters in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. World Medical Relief and Detroit Job Corps Center was featured in the Michigan’s Citizen Newspaper on August 19,2011.
