On July 21,2011, Detroit Job Corps Center’s Business and Community Liaison, Ms. Joan Scales and trainee Ms. Lynette Davis attended the Region 1 Fine Arts Festival Ceremony hosted by the Red Rock Job Corps Center. Ms. Davis won third place in the Pencil/Charcoal/Ink category. Lynette’s work was showcased at Cheney University along with all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. After the ceremony, Lynette was interviewed and featured in Philadelphia Tribune Newspaper; the story appeared in the July 26, 2011 issue. The Fine Arts Competition Festival Ceremony was also featured in the Department of Labor (DOL) newsletter on August 4, 2011.
