On Monday, April 18,2011 the Detroit Job Corps Center (DJCC) trainees were trained to be volunteers at the Wayne County Health Expo hosted by Wayne County Executive , Mr. Robert A. Ficano . The fair was held on Wednesday, April 20,2011 from 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Cob Hall located in Detroit ,Michigan.

The Wayne County Department of Health and Human Services along  with fifty community and business partners provided the following services to uninsured / under-insured individuals and  their families:

• Free Health Screenings
• Health Coverage options for small business 
• On-site enrollment in low-cost health coverage programs
• Educational seminars on Healthy Living / Healthy Lifestyles 

Over 3,000 participants participated at the Wayne County Health Expo. It was a rewarding experience for our trainees and staff who volunteered for this community project for  Global Youth Service Day.
