Friday March 11, 2016, Detroit Job Corps Center students visited the Detroit District office of Congressman John Conyers. They met with District Director Yolonda Lipsey. Yolonda pointed out that Congressman Conyers is considered the “Dean” of the House of Representatives due to the fact that he is the longest serving member of Congress in history. He was first elected in 1965 giving him over 50 years of service. Ms. Lipsey provided a tour of the office and explained the districting process that is determined every 10 years based on the census.
