Job Corps students help with memorials at Little Sioux Scout Camp

April was a busy month as students of the Denison Job Corps participated in Earth Day and Global Youth Service Day. One of the activities took students to the Little Sioux Scout Camp. Together with camp administrators, two large memorials were set by the students of the Painting trade, taught by Todd Langlois and Brick trade instructed by Rod Oviatt, to acknowledge the contributions of those who dedicated so much of their lives to the camp. Students dug the holes, and carefully placed the monuments in the open, clean and cleared area for all visitors to see. Engraved pavers were also laid in the flag pole region to personally honor the volunteers that assisted the camp after the devastating tornado. When the heavy work was completed, students were treated to a loose meat venison lunch prepared at the lodge.
