Cinco de Mayo, Fun in the Park with Denison Job Corps

Denison, Iowa has a very diverse population. The large Hispanic population celebrates their culture with the Denison community in the Cinco de Mayo parade followed by activities at Washington Park. Venders, amusement rides, ethnic foods, and entertainment for all is usually scheduled for the first Saturday of May. People come from miles around to enjoy the festive games, music, dances, and other happenings that fill this community for the day.

Denison Job Corps has always been a part of the party. Students help with children’s rides, patrol the grounds and offer assistance. They have been seen making a great taco or helping in a craft area. The Denison Job Corps clown club does face painting and creates unique balloon animals that the children stand in line to have. This event is sponsored by the Chamber and Development Council of Crawford County. Cinco de Mayo is fun for all ages.
