Daniel M. is a 21-year-old student who came to Delaware Valley Job Corps in November ’09. Prior to that, he was working in a lumberyard and realized that this was just a job and what he really wanted was a career. While he had his high school diploma he was unable to afford college. He looked into the Army but because he wore a hearing aid, he was not accepted. Then his sister mentioned the Job Corps program to him. Daniel signed up and when he came to Delaware Valley he chose Business Technology as his trade. After successfully completing the trade in 8 months he applied to Advanced Training – TCU. While waiting for the results, he decided to become an Ambassador for our new student arrivals, taking them on tours, sharing information about our program and providing support to them in there first days on center. After serving in this position for 5 weeks, he got word that he was accepted into Advanced Training. Daniel is truly grateful for this opportunity and knows that his future has so much potential thanks to the Job Corps program.
