On Monday, June 6, 2016 the Northeast Search and Rescue team visited the Delaware Valley Job Corps Security Trade students and provided an overview on the duties of a volunteer search and rescue member to the Security Trade. They demonstrated the use of a K9, that has been trained as an air scent tracker searching for a missing person in wooded areas. A demonstration of an unmanned aircraft, ie. Drone, in the search for missing persons, safety inspections, and security patrols. The students were excited to interact with the search & rescue K9 and to see how the K9 is used to search for missing people. The students asked many questions about search and rescue employment and how they can get involved in community service.
