On 11/21/11, Congressman Maurice Hinchey and his staff members joined DVJCC students in Monticello for the Lighting Ceremony.  DVJCC students were responsible for saving the Village of Monticello over $80,000 by taking on the assembly and installation of 64 historic lights on Broadway.  Our students took a job that was supposed to take 3 months to complete, and finished it completely in 2 and a half weeks. 

Congressman Hinchey was very supportive and crucial in getting our students involved with this project.   The Congressman gave all students and staff involved congressional certificates of merit.  Great job!
