Three Delaware Valley Job Corps students were awarded Red Cross college scholarships in the amount of $833 each. Lourdes Centeno, Geomaris Perez Bonano and Jaynay Fernandez are currently enrolled in the centers Advanced Career Training (ACT) program and will be attending Sullivan County Community College this fall. The money awarded by the Red Cross is the result of their school scholarship program available to educational institutions that conduct blood drives. Since last August, center students and staff donated 229 usable pints of blood. Based on this quantity, the center was awarded $2500 which was then divided evenly among the three ACT students. The students would like to thank Jessica Bush, former Medical Administrative Assistant Instructor, Debbie Vierra the centers Wellness Manager and Jessica Fraser their ACT Counselor for this needed financial support.
