On Monday, Feburary 7, 2011, Congressman Maurice Hinchey, representing New York’s 22nd District, came to Delaware Valley Job Corps Center in Callicoon, NY to visit and tour the facility. The purpose for his visit was to emphasize his continued support of the Job Corps program and to oppose any budget cuts. “Now is the wrong time to be slashing the budget for the Job Corps Program”, said Rep. Hinchey during his visit. Rep. Hinchey spent two hours on center, visiting classrooms and meeting with staff and students. SGA presented him with a special award thanking him for his support. Rep. Hinchey said he would continue advocating for Job Corps. “As a member of Congress, I will fight hard to stop these cuts.”
