The Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center hosted students from Liberty High School on 3/6/24. Jefferson County Schools Youth Services Center Coordinator Bryan Dickerson escorted the group of 12 students.
WMY Records Specialist Dorethea Richmond, who conducted the tour, said the students asked several questions, including the length of time to complete the program. Richmond also said the students liked that they could obtain their high school diploma faster if they worked hard. The students were impressed with the potential pay they could earn after receiving certifications and also liked that they would get a stipend every two weeks. Recreation field trips were also enticing for the group.
