For the second year, Collbran Job Corps students learned from one another about safety in their vocational training in a “Wheel of Fortune” inspired competition. Carpentry students built the wheel; students submitted safety questions from each trade; and teams of five people each, including a captain and co-captain, vied to win ten points for each correct answer.
Colllbran Job Corps student Tamra Harris described the competition as a “Great way to learn about safety in other trades. We all helped in project management, working with to-do lists to meet deadlines for the competition.” Nineteen year old Harris has been a student at Collbran Job Corps for one and a half years. She joined because she needed her high school diploma and extra training skills. She’ll graduate in August and plans to attend college in Colorado Springs to enter the health care field.
