Students and staff were mesmerized by a 71 minute video when Light Gives Heat presented at Collbran Job Corps this month. The non-profit organization, based in Grand Junction, Colorado works to create economic sustainability and creative endeavors to the citizens of Uganda, Africa.

   Morgan and Dave Hansow moved to Uganda with their first child with the intent to “simply go and meet real needs” following their decision to adopt their second child from the area.  Light Gives Heat is the on-going result of the Hansow’s experience.
   Light Gives Heat and Invisible Children, an organization which presented at the center previously, have received nearly $2,000 from Collbran Job Corps students and staff. “I think it’s especially inspiring knowing students are choosing to spend their paychecks in support of these organizations,” said Rachel Nelson, Social Studies, Grand Mesa High School, Collbran Job Corps.
