Students at Collbran Job Corps are interested in local politics. Via on and off campus opportunities through their Government class students are active participants in their community. Recently six students attended a Meet and Greet with County Commissioner hopeful Rose Pugliese. Chosen based on their level of commitment and energy in their Government class the students researched the purpose of a County Commissioner; Pugliese’s background and platform on current issues. The students developed interesting, difficult questions which sparked dialogue between the attendees and Pugliese. “What do you think your biggest struggle will be…largest weakness…how do you plan to overcome it?” and “Perception plays a major role in politics; how do you want to be portrayed?” Students will be informed voters this fall!
